Manchester City and England international star footballer Raheem Sterling has arranged for 550 pupils from his old school in north London to attend the FA Cup semi-final between his side and Brighton at Wembley Stadium this weekend.
Students from Ark Elvin Academy in Wembley also got the opportunity to meet Sterling and thank him in person at City's training complex in Manchester on Thursday.

Ark students were celebrated at an inaugural award ceremony for the Helenswood and William Parker Sports and Arts bursaries.
The event was attended by Rt Hon Amber Rudd, who awarded the successful students with their bursaries. The afternoon was interspersed with music and dance performances from Ark Helenswood and Ark William Parker students, who showcased their talents for the audience. The schools have long-standing traditions of performing arts and sport, respectively.

Ambition Institute, a new organisation dedicated to supporting teachers and school leaders to keep getting better, has launched.
A result of the merger between Ambition School Leadership and the Institute for Teaching, the new graduate school combines the mission focus of a charity, the academic rigour of a traditional university, and the essential classroom connection of a teaching school.

A team of three year 11 students from Ark Evelyn Grace Academy in Brixton, south London, have won 'Best Innovative Product' in the TeenTech 2019 Awards, celebrating at Buckingham Palace. It was a double win for the school, as teacher Sumair Mohammed also won TeenTech's 'Teacher of the Year' award.

English Mastery, a knowledge-rich, key stage three curriculum and teacher development programme, incubated by Ark Ventures, has been selected for a two-year Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) efficacy trial, it was announced today.
An earlier and smaller trial of English Mastery published last year by the Brilliant Club, concluded that, on average, students in schools that adopted the programme made four months more progress than similar students in similar schools that did not adopt the programme.

“What is a knowledge-rich curriculum?”
This was the topic of a recent panel discussion hosted by English Mastery, featuring educators and curriculum design experts.
 John Blake, Ark’s Curriculum Design Lead, put forward the argument that a knowledge-rich curriculum was often misinterpreted as the memorisation of facts supported by rote learning.

Today it was announced that Assembly, a venture working to transform the way schools use data, is becoming part of Groupcall.
Assembly, a joint venture between Ark and the NEON Foundation, has been incubated by Ark since it was founded in 2015. By transferring to Groupcall, Assembly has found a widely-respected partner who will support the organisation as it continues to grow.

Paddington green

Ark Paddington Green Primary is today celebrating the results of its recent Ofsted inspection, which graded the school as “good” with outstanding features.
The report praised the school’s leadership, stating: “Leaders, governors and the trust have worked highly effectively to make significant improvements to the school since it became an academy. They have designed a relevant and inspiring curriculum that develops pupils’ skills and knowledge and fosters a strong understanding of equality and diversity”

Ark William Parker Academy

Ark William Parker Academy and Hastings Athletic club came together to celebrate the reopening of the high spec Ark William Parker athletics arena this month. Team GB elite athletes Adam Clarke and Charlotte Purdue officially declared the track open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and were joined by an enthusiastic gathering of local dignitaries, the William Parker Foundation, students and club members.

Ark Ayrton Primary Academy in Portsmouth is celebrating its recent Ofsted report, which has graded the school as good. The school was previously rated as ‘requires improvement’ at its last inspection in 2016.
