Five Ark students from across the network are celebrating being awarded a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" to take part in an all-expenses-paid trip to learn outdoor survival and adventure skills.

An English teacher at Ark Putney Academy has won one of ten "Inspirational Teachers" awards from Oxford University after intervening to ensure that a talented sixth form student achieved a place at the university.
Edward Davison, Deputy Head of the school's Sixth Form, was honoured with the award after helping Maan Al-Yasiri secure a place at Brasenose College, Oxford, which boasts the current British and Australian Prime Ministers amongst its alumni.

Ark St Alban’s Academy this week hosted teachers from across the country in a free conference on helping students manage the change to linear GCSE exams.
The conference was the latest in Ark’s series of free professional development sessions open to all teachers, regardless of whether or not they work in an Ark school. The day gave practical advice and schemes of work for the new GCSE specification, in which a student’s grade relies entirely upon the final exams, rather than coursework or modular exams.

Teachers from across the country joined staff and guest speakers at Ark Helenswood Academy this week to tackle ‘life beyond levels’ and the recent changes in primary and secondary assessment.

Ark St Alban’s Academy has been shortlisted for Secondary School of the Year at the Times Education Supplement (TES) School Awards 2016.  Ark St Alban’s is one of just eight schools in the country to be shortlisted for this prestigious award.  The school has also been shortlisted for the Science, Technology and Engineering Team of the Year Award making it one of the only schools to be shortlisted in two categories.

Jane Fletcher will join Ark as our new Regional Director for Secondary Schools, starting in September.
Ms Fletcher comes from Harris Girls’ Academy in East Dulwich, where she has been Headteacher and Executive Headteacher since 2008, leading the school to a 2012 Ofsted Outstanding rating.
Jane is an educator with a proven track record of transforming schools. Harris Girls’ has been in the top 3 percentile nationally for progress for the past 5 years consecutively and is currently in the 1st percentile.
