ATT graduation 2022

More than 130 new graduates who have completed their Ark Teacher Training programme were honoured at a prestigious ceremony at Ark All Saints Academy on Friday 8 July.
The teacher training programme, which was rated Outstanding by Ofsted this year, trained 135 graduates across the year in Ark and partner schools.

Ark Music Gala 2022
Thursday 7th July 2022

More than 600 students from 33 Ark schools came together for a celebration of music at the famous Barbican Centre on Monday 27 June.
The tenth Ark Music Gala had a packed audience of nearly 1300 guests, including teachers, support staff, families and donors, who were treated to impressive performances by children of all ages and musical abilities.
The theme 'A Night of Hope and Celebration' recognised the current climate and situations we have been living through the past few years.

Teach Portsmouth awards

Teachers and support staff from Ark’s Portsmouth schools were praised for their exceptional work at the Teach Portsmouth Awards.
The Unsung Hero trophy went to ‘master of all trades’ cleaner Stacey Patrick from Ark Dickens Primary Academy. Over the past 18 months, Stacey has been a cook, one-to-one support assistant, a playground buddy, and an extra staff member for trips – all of which are outside her role as a school cleaner.

Athletics day runners
Monday 13th June 2022

On Wednesday 8 June schools from across the Ark network came together to compete in the inaugural Ark Athletics Championship.
The day was held at Croydon Sports Arena, where athletes from years 7 and 8 ran, jumped, threw and swung their way through a range of track and field events.
The fixtures included hurdles, high jump, long jump, shot, discus, javelin, and hammer – as well as a number of track events including relay, 100m, 800m and 1500m.

Peepul classroom

Peepul is transforming student learning across Indian-led government schools by creating classrooms where teachers meaningfully and effectively engage children. The charity has just gained a 'Rethinking Innovation in Education' accolade at the Commonwealth Education Awards, which recognised Peepul from a cohort of more than 2400 organisations for its impact.

Sharon Rutherford
Wednesday 8th June 2022

Sharon Rutherford is Head of Maths at Key Stage 3 at Ark Alexandra Academy in Hastings. She has overseen the running of Maths Mastery in the school, and as part of this, she has produced the resources for her team to support them in delivering successful lessons. Sharon has utilised technology to drive the students' engagement, which is part of a carefully planned maths curriculum. Sharon's story is part of our #ArkPeople series.

Platinum Jubilee
Wednesday 1st June 2022

Ark’s 39 schools situated across Birmingham, Hastings, London, and Portsmouth held festivities to commemorate Her Majesty The Queen becoming the first Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, 70 years of service.
Before the end of half term, schools held assemblies looking at the life of The Queen and how society had changed during her reign.
Students also enjoyed tea parties and street parties to celebrate this momentous occasion.
