Tam Broadway appointed Headteacher of new Isaac Newton Primary Academy

ARK Schools is delighted to announce that Isaac Newton Academy in Redbridge has appointed Tam Broadway as the founding head teacher of its new primary academy which opens alongside the existing Isaac Newton Academy in September 2014.

Ms Broadway is Assistant Headteacher at Little Ilford School in Newham. She has previously been an advanced skills teacher at St James C of E Primary School in Forest Gate and has taught in a range of primary and secondary schools in Newham. In her previous posts she has had responsibility for literacy progress across key stage 2, phase leadership in years 5 and 6, teaching, learning and assessment. At Little Ilford she has had responsibility for transition from primary to secondary school, developing beginner teachers and raising boys’ achievement. She has developed a range of innovative and highly effective programmes working with local primary teachers and students.

Isaac Newton Academy Principal, Rachel Macfarlane, said: “I’m really delighted that Tam Broadway is to be the founding head teacher of Isaac Newton Academy Primary. She has worked in primary and secondary schools, in communities very similar to Isaac Newton Academy’s, and had great success in helping children make outstanding levels of progress.”

Ms Broadway said: “At the new Isaac Newton Primary Academy we have an extraordinary opportunity to show young people, from the earliest age, that they can achieve whatever they want. I’m thrilled to be joining an ambitious and successful academy and to have the chance to enable our pupils to develop the habits of successful learning from reception onwards.

Information Events for parents interested in applying for a reception place at INA in September 2014 are being held at the school on the 5th December 2.30pm and 8th January 2014 6pm.
