ARK Schools today reported the network’s seventh GCSE results for the eight ARK academies which have GCSE students. Across the network, 58% of pupils achieved five A*-C grades including English and mathematics, with attainment in both English and mathematics outperforming national attainment.

Can the lessons learned in turning around schools in the UK have implications for education in other countries? The global education network Teach for All believes they can. They visited ARK Globe Academy alongside social entrepreneurs from Africa in order to learn more about the ethos behind the school's success.
Matt Jones, Principal of ARK Globe Academy, met with social entrepreneurs from Uganda and Nigeria to talk about the impact strong vision can have upon a school.

Jeff Rich, the drummer from rock band Status Quo recently visited Ark Tindal Primary Academy to share his musical skill and knowledge of percussion, performing a musical workshop with teachers and students.  Mr Rich introduced the school to his collection of 250 instruments, from which everyone had the opportunity to learn and play something new.  Having developed rhythmic skills during the session, pupils concluded with a group performance accompanied by virtuosic drum kit improvisation from the renowned drummer.

The demolition of ARK Putney Academy’s gyms began over Easter, as part of a £30 million project to refurbish the whole school building.

Sixth form students at ARK's Walworth Academy were at the forefront of international diplomacy last month, with a visit from the US Ambassador to the UK, Matthew Barzun.
The Ambassador visited the school to find out what the students of Walworth think of the US and to discuss the issues that were important to them.

HRH Princess Beatrice visited two ARK schools in South London last week to talk to pupils and teachers about their work supporting children with dyslexia.
Princess Beatrice told a group of dyslexic pupils: 'Dyslexia is not a pigeonhole to say you can’t do anything. It is an opportunity and a possibility to learn differently. You have magical brains, they just process differently. Don’t feel like you should be held back by it.'
