Football Putney girls
Friday 6th May 2022

The Year 7 boys' team from Ark Globe Academy and Year 7 girls' team from Ark Putney Academy were crowned winners at the first Ark junior 7-a-side football tournament on 28 April.
With 250 students from twelve Ark schools, there was a lot of excitement and friendly rivalry on the pitches last month.
To claim their trophies, Ark Globe beat Ark All Saints 3-1, and Ark Putney won 1-0 against Ark Academy.

Ark Teacher Training
Thursday 5th May 2022

Ark Teacher Training, a programme formed in 2015 by Ark to bring recent graduates into the profession, has today been hailed 'Outstanding' in all areas by Ofsted.
Ark Teacher Training was inspected under Ofsted's new inspection framework, which has seen many 'outstanding' providers marked down. To date, there are only three providers in the country who have retained this rating.

EEF trial

According to a new report published today by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF), teachers who delivered the English Mastery Key Stage 3 programme – which provides teachers with resources and tools to support their practice – reported that it reduced their workload and improved their pupil’s literacy skills and engagement.

SPArk is Ark's new student-facing learning portal, which aims to enable more effective independent learning at home. The portal includes workbooks, videos, games and events for all subjects and year groups. We launched SPArk at the start of the pandemic to provide network-wide remote learning resources to students across all year groups. This accompanied the deployment of over 20,000 Chromebooks to enable our students to get online while at home.

Healthcare careers at Ark Walworth

On Wednesday 23 March we held a medicine and healthcare careers fair at Ark Walworth Academy. Experts from more than 14 disciplines gave Ark students information about their jobs, and advice about working in the sector.

Ark Swift name the crane

Two Year 6 pupils from Ark Swift Primary Academy have chosen names for the gigantic cranes being used to construct their new school.
The building will open in September 2023 and bring together two Ark primary schools – Ark Swift and Ark Burlington Danes (BDA), creating a two-form entry school named Ark White City Primary Academy.

Ark Music Sing into Spring – Primary

The Ark Music team recently held their annual celebration of singing, in preparation for the summer Music Gala at the Barbican Centre.
Sing into Spring brought together more than 400 Ark students and their teachers last month. Here’s a snapshot of what happened:

KSA students meet Chancellor Rishi Sunak

A group of students from Ark’s King Solomon Academy (KSA) discussed careers in economics and politics at a memorable meeting with the Chancellor Rishi Sunak at the Treasury in Whitehall in London this week.
The special event was organised to mark International Women’s Day and the Year 10 and Year 12 female students took the opportunity to reflect their hopes for the future, their career aspirations, and how best to break down barriers faced by women.

Stephen Cowan and Lucy Heller
Wednesday 9th March 2022

Hammersmith & Fulham council leader, Cllr Stephen Cowan, and Ark chief executive, Lucy Heller, have hailed the £150m, not-for-profit regeneration of the EdCity site as “an exciting moment for the White City community and beyond”.
The two joined forces on Tuesday 8 March to mark the start of work to construct the new community facilities on the site, including a new Ark primary school, youth zone, affordable homes and office accommodation.
