Students from seven Ark schools recently attended a unique event hosted by Capgemini, designed to give students a preview of life as a business consultant.
More than 60 students attended the one-day workshop, held at Capgemini’s London offices in Holborn. The session was part of Ark’s Professional Pathways programme, supporting students to achieve BTEC Level 3 qualifications and preparing them for an increasingly competitive employment landscape.

Ark Elvin Academy

A fourteen year old student from Ark Elvin Academy in Wembley was recently selected as a regional winner as part of Jack Petchey's "Speak Out" Challenge – the world’s largest speaking competition for young people.

Yesterday students at Ark Burlington Danes Academy were paid a surprise visit by Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, along with YouTuber Daniel Howell and musicians Professor Green and The Vamps to raise awareness around cyberbullying and mental health.

Staff and students from across the Ark network were proud to be part of Time to Talk Day, encouraging everyone to start talking about mental health.
Time to Talk Day was established by Time to Change, the campaign to change how we all think and act about mental health problems, led by the charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness. The day was created in recognition of the fact that people talking and sharing their experiences changes the attitudes of those around them.

On Saturday 20 January, Rt. Hon Amber Rudd, Deputy Lieutenant Sarah Kowitz, the Mayor of Hastings, headteachers, business leaders and others from the local community attended the Now Teach launch in Hastings. 
The occasion was the much-anticipated launch of Now Teach, an Ark venture co-founded by Lucy Kellaway, which aims to encourage people who’ve already had one successful career to train as teachers. 

Ark Elvin Academy
Wednesday 17th January 2018

Staff and students at Ark Elvin Academy were delighted to set foot into their brand new building this week. The school, which is based in Wembley, is an eight-form entry secondary school. The new building is over three storeys and was constructed by Kier Group plc.
New facilities include fully-equipped food technology, design and technology, science and art departments. There is also a new music department which includes a recording studio with music labs and practice rooms, and state of the art drama studios.

Ark Victoria
Thursday 11th January 2018

Today it has been announced that an all-through school in Birmingham previously known as Perry Beeches V will be joining the Ark network in March 2018. Ark Victoria Academy will be an all-through school, serving families in the local community of Small Heath.
The name Ark Victoria was chosen by the headteachers because of its proximity to Small Heath Park, visited by Queen Victoria in 1887 where she was greeted by thousands of school children.

Ark Putney Academy
Tuesday 9th January 2018

Sinead Brown, a year 10 student from Ark Putney Academy in London, has won a place on the new Office for Students panel, a government-approved regulatory and competition authority for the higher education sector in England. Sinead was selected from 70 applicants and will become the panel's youngest voice for higher education reform. 

Ark Ventures

Today marks the launch of Ark Ventures, which aims to incubate, launch and scale up initiatives that have the potential to transform the lives of children. 
Many of the initiatives ideas started in Ark schools. Others have come from innovators and partners outside of Ark. But they all share the ambition to address some of the most intractable issues in education and society – and they all have the potential to deliver widespread system change.
Ark Ventures contributes strategic and operational support while the ventures are growing into sustainable organisations.
