ARK Schools is delighted to announce that the Phoenix Canberra Federation in Hammersmith will become an ARK primary academy in September and that current Headteacher, Michael O’ Grady, will continue as the new academy’s headteacher.

Sir Michael Wilshaw, Chief Inspector of Schools in England gave the third ARK Schools Reflections on Leadership lecture. A moving, humorous, thoughtful and self deprecating discussion, he recounted the experiences, key questions and personal opportunities of his 45 year career in education.
He began by congratulating King Solomon Academy on their recent Ofsted inspection and their leadership team’s success in focusing on better leadership, governance and teaching as a means to better serve their pupils.

ARK Schools welcomes two new Hastings schools into its ranks, marking the network’s expansion into its fourth metropolitan area, joining academies in London, Birmingham and Portsmouth.

Ofsted inspectors have rated King Solomon Academy in North Westminster outstanding in every category for a second time. ARK Schools opened the primary academy just five and a half years ago, adding a secondary school in 2009. Reporting on the two-day inspection in May, the inspectors said: “The academy’s mission, ‘To provide a rigorous and transformational education that prepares our pupils for success at university and beyond’ has become a reality at this outstanding academy.”

ARK Schools is delighted to announce the appointment of Alison Downey as the new Principal of ARK Putney Academy. Ms Downey will assume the leadership of the academy, recently rated ‘good’ by Ofsted, from September.
