A group of year 3 and year 5 students from Ark Swift Academy in west London were recently treated to an American football training session, featuring coaches and a star from the National Football League (NFL).  Hosted by professional team the Jacksonville Jaguars, the event was filmed as part of a documentary on American Football presented by Vernon Kay.

Summer Sounds - Ark Music Festival
Monday 11th June 2018

Young musicians from Ark schools across England will band together for the first ever Summer Sounds Music Festival, celebrating music-making across the network. The event takes place at Ark Swift Primary Academy, on the soon to be developed EdCity site in West London, on Saturday 23 June 2018. 

Ark Helenswood Academy
Thursday 24th May 2018

Ark Helenswood Academy in Hastings is today celebrating its Ofsted report, which has graded the secondary school as good after its recent inspection. The school was previously deemed as requires improvement. 
The Ofsted inspectors said: ‘Senior leaders, governors and members of the Ark schools multi-academy trust have worked with dedication to rapidly improve the school. Together they are committed to the school’s continued improvement.’

Last week, educators, investors, funders and representatives of 32 school networks around the globe gathered in Zurich, Switzerland for the third annual meeting of the Global Schools Forum.
The three-day event brought together school networks from 19 different countries – along with organisations interested in supporting their work – to take part in training, network with peers, and learn from each other.

Isaac Newton Academy

Ark's Isaac Newton Academy has been shortlisted for Secondary School of the Year at the Tes Awards 2018.
Isaac Newton Academy saw outstanding academic success achieved by its staff and students last year, the school’s first year of GCSE results. Furthermore, Isaac Newton implements a number of unique initiatives on a day-to-day basis which ensure that students have a rich educational experience and grow into well-rounded, accomplished individuals.

Monday 9th April 2018

Sam Freedman is to be the new Chief Executive of Ark’s Education Partnerships Group. EPG works in developing countries to help improve the quality of education, including through well designed public-private partnerships and effective systems of school accountability. Sam joins EPG from Teach First, where he is currently Executive Director.  He has extensive experience in education, including a period as Senior Policy Adviser to the Secretary of State for Education.  Sam will take over as EPG CEO in June 2018.

Isaac Newton Academy

Ark's Isaac Newton Academy in Ilford has won the Secondary School of the Year Award for its continued commitment to developing its students’ communication skills. The 2018 Shine a Light Awards, run by learning company Pearson in partnership with The Communication Trust, took place in London on 22 March 2018.

Two senior leaders from the Ark network have published a new book of case studies with the aim of sharing best practice with teachers and school leaders across the country. Great Aspirations contains interesting, innovative and successful practice from a wide range of outstanding primary, secondary and all-through schools across London.

Some of our students will be celebrating more than just great A level results this summer. They’ll be the recipients of a new bursary which provides free accommodation in London throughout their time at university.
The bursary is being provided by urbanest, a leading student accommodation provider. Urbanest is focused on delivering high quality accommodation and services to students, working closely with major universities in London.
