What do you look for in an application?
This will differ from role to role and school to school, so please make sure you read the job description and the person specification. More generally, we look for someone who is aligned to our mission, is results-orientated, and has proven success in their previous roles.
Who can I contact about my application?
Each job advert should have a contact relevant for their role. Please feel free to contact them directly if you have any questions or want a confidential discussion about the role.

Can I start my application and save for later?
Yes, you can save and exit your application at any time and come back to it later by clicking the Save & Exit button. Your application will also automatically save each time you move from one section to another.

I’m having technical issues with the application, what should I do?
Simply use the technical support chatbot which is the grey icon that appears in the bottom right-hand corner of each page of the careers portal. This will put you directly in touch with the support team who operate the system.
I can’t find what I’m looking for, can I sign up to receive vacancy alerts from Ark?
Yes, you can sign up to receive job alerts from us based on keywords, location, role type or school. Sign up here.
Are you able to offer sponsorship for international candidates?
We are able to offer sponsorship but this is decided on a case-by-case basis by each individual school. If you are eligible for sponsorship, the first step would be for you to apply for the role via our dedicated careers portal. If you are shortlisted and hired by the school, we would then start the sponsorship process. If you are a teacher, please do check your eligibility for Qualified Teacher Status before applying.
Can I move between schools in the network?
One of the advantages of working for Ark is that there are many opportunities to change jobs and stay within the Ark family. Many staff have roles in multiple schools or across our network team and Ark Ventures. There are also opportunities to work in network-wide or regional roles which span various schools in the network.
Where is my nearest Ark school?
There are 39 Ark schools in four locations; Birmingham, Hastings, London and Portsmouth.
I’m not a qualified teacher, how can I train?
Ark has its own School Direct programme, Ark Teacher Training. Our school-based teacher training programme is rated ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted. Find out more about Ark Teacher Training here.
