Rebecca Clark, recently the Regional Schools Commissioner for South-West England, will be joining Ark as our new Secondary Regional Director for London and Portsmouth.
Prior to her role as RSC at the Department for Education, Rebecca worked with Oasis Community Learning for eight years in a variety of roles, initially as a vice principal and principal in Bristol, before eventually moving on to be a Regional Director and National Education Director at the multi-academy trust. Her remit at Ark will be to help to continue to drive up standards in our schools, as part of our mission to provide every young person, regardless of their background with the opportunity to go to university or into the career of their choice.
Lucy Heller, Chief Executive of Ark, said, “We’re really pleased and fortunate to have someone of Rebecca’s calibre and experience joining us. She brings a wealth of experience in the education with her.”
Rebecca commented, “I am genuinely thrilled to be joining Ark as a Regional Director. I’ve always been committed to working with schools serving the most disadvantaged young people and communities. It is an interesting and exciting time to be joining Ark and I am really looking forward to meeting students and colleagues.”
