Launching Ambition School Leadership

On 22 November two Ark-incubated charities, Teaching Leaders and The Future Leaders Trust, merged to form Ambition School Leadership. The two organisations had announced their intention to join forces in June, bringing together 18 years’ combined success of developing leaders in schools throughout the country.

Ambition School Leadership’s mission is to build a network of exceptional school leaders at all levels to transform the lives of the children who need it most. It will continue to deliver the same programmes as its predecessor organisations, providing development and support to educators across England and Wales – from teachers aspiring to lead their department, to Chief Executives steering multiple schools, and all the crucial leadership roles in between.

James Toop is the CEO of the new organisation. He says, “Too many children don’t achieve at school and can’t go on to realise their ambitions. We are working for a fair society built on an education system where every child can thrive, no matter what their background.

“I look forward to working with partners across the education, government and corporate sectors to support the long-term improvement of schools in challenging contexts, offering a clear pathway of expert career progression for the most important job in the world.”

To mark its public launch, Ambition School Leadership has released a report featuring new research exploring the impact of school leadership on student outcomes in the most deprived areas of the country. You can read the full report here.
