Ark students celebrate outstanding A level and BTEC achievements

Today’s A level and BTEC results showcase exceptional achievements by Ark students – with hundreds securing places at top universities and prestigious degree apprenticeships.

Across the network, 74 percent of students achieved A* to C or equivalent in their A level and BTEC Level 3 subjects – a nine percentage point improvement on 2024.

Sixty-seven percent of students studying A level qualifications achieved three A* to C grades, up six percentage points on last year’s results.

For BTEC Level 3 qualifications, 87 percent achieved DDM or better, 14 percentage points higher than last year. This consolidates Ark’s position as the leading Multi Academy Trust for Applied General Qualifications nationally.

Jerry Collins, Ark Director of Secondary Education said, “Congratulations to our year 13s who have achieved fantastic results today. This is a credit to their hard work and commitment – and to the support and dedication of all our teachers. At Ark, we want all our A level and BTEC students to be able to access the university or opportunity of their choice, so it’s wonderful to see so many progressing to top destinations. We wish them well for the future.”

There are many inspiring stories of individual success across the network. Here are just a few who are celebrating today:

Ark Globe Academy student Samuel Fatoke-Osobukola passed his BTEC Level 3 in Business with D*DD and has been offered a place to read Theology and Religion with Foundation Year at Oxford. Samuel is the only student this year to be accepted for an Oxford place via the BTEC-only route to the Foundation Year programme.

He said, “I’m looking forward to meeting people from different walks of life. In terms of future aspirations, I have considered becoming a teacher. I want to teach people about theology and religion. My teachers have really inspired me – and I’d love to have a similar impact on children.”

Ark St Albans student Amal Al-Ashwal got A*A*A*A and is going to study Medicine at the University of Birmingham. She said, “Becoming a doctor is a great privilege and responsibility to me, and it is a career where I will be able to directly see the positive impact I have on society. I want to be there to ensure that a patient is heard, and to allow patients a judgement-free space to express their concerns.”

Damari Harris from Ark Globe Academy got A*AB and will study Law at Bristol. He said, “I want to become a lawyer so I can be of help to my varying communities, and those around me. I want to initiate projects to help people who are unable to help themselves, as not everyone receives the help they need. I am passionate about improving social wellbeing.”

Robert Adrian Lucescu from Ark Elvin Academy got D*D*D* and is going to the University of Essex to study Physiotherapy. He said, “One of my main motivations is the opportunity to provide physiotherapy services to impoverished countries – where access to proper healthcare and rehabilitation may be limited. I aim to use my knowledge and skills to improve the quality of life for people.”

Aytash Atamusa from Ark John Keats Academy got A*A*A* and will study Medicine at University College, London. She said, “My goal is to have a positive impact on the lives of others. Studying medicine at university would be the first step in accomplishing this greater goal.”

Thank you to the donors who generously support our students with bursaries. This funding helps alleviate the financial pressures of higher education and provides students with the life-changing opportunity to immerse themselves fully in their studies and university experience.
