Former Ark students can now apply for an Ark Teacher Training (ATT) grant to support their first years of training.
Students will be eligible to receive funds up to £3,000, paid over the three terms of their training year.
Ark Teacher Training is an ‘Outstanding’ school-based two-year Initial Teacher Training programme, where people train on the job and learn from a network of education experts. Trainees are based in a school from day one, engaging with children straight away.
Leila MacTavish, Head of Ark Teacher Training, said:
“We are thrilled to be offering a funding boost to support former Ark students. It is an excellent opportunity for future teachers to get the extra support to make their teaching dream a reality. They will also be fantastic ambassadors for the programme and our alumni network.”
Applicants will be assessed in three categories:
- Their motivation for being a teacher
- How they will contribute to the school and wider community
- Financial need
Alongside their application, alumni must complete an online application form before Thursday 30 June.
Interviews will take place in July, and grants will be awarded by Thursday 1 September.
