Primary league tables released this week show that Ark Rose Primary Academy is the most improved primary school in Birmingham, and 8th most improved in the country, based on 2014 Key Stage 2 results. The league table is based on the 256 Birmingham primary schools which have results for 2013 and 2014.
Exam results at Ark Rose Primary Academy leapt from 56 points in 2014 with 100% of pupils achieving Level 4 Reading.
Headteacher Penelope Webb says: “I am delighted to see that Ark Rose Primary Academy is the most improved primary school in Birmingham which testament to the hard work of the whole school community. We are making rapid progress at Ark Rose but we are not complacent: there is much more work to be done.
“It is essential that our children have access to the best possible education and we are committed to continuing our journey to outstanding and giving our children the very best start in life. I was very pleased with our results last year and extremely proud of the children for their hard work. With their results they were well-placed to move on and thrive at secondary school, and beyond.
“We need to ensure that this momentum is maintained, and that our children continue to achieve their potential.”
Ark Tindal Primary Academy also came in the top 25% of most improved primary schools in the city with last year’s KS2 results reaching 59% – an increase of 21% since Tindal joined the Ark network in 2012. Ark Tindal Primary Academy was recently declared “transformed” by Ofsted inspectors.
