Today the virtual Ark Primary Network Day takes place, aimed at all our primary teachers and support staff. Attendees at the event had a surprise in store, when they were shown a film of The Gruffalo illustrator Axel Scheffler, thanking them for all their hard work.
Axel said in the clip, “Today I’m here to praise the great work of Ark’s primary teachers. I know that everybody in health and education has had a really hard year and it’s not over yet. You have been amazing in your support of children and families during these tough times. Carry on with your great work.” He gave his thanks to the teachers, and then shared a thank you drawing of The Gruffalo himself, home schooling The Gruffalo’s Child.
The Network Day is a collaborative event and one of the main moments of the year where Ark staff come together as a whole to work collectively to support each other. The day will be spent building on the excellent practice that our schools have developed in key areas and giving everyone the opportunity to benefit from these innovations.
