New term, new building at ARK All Saints

Tuesday 21st January 2014

On 10 January, staff at ARK All Saints Academy welcomed students into their brand new building for the start of the new term. The students were excited, impressed and a little nervous, but after a full day of inductions they couldn’t wait to get started on lessons in their new surroundings.

Lucy Frame, Principal, said: “It is wonderful to be able to show that we keep our promises. The building is beautiful and everyone feels valued. Our scholars commented that they love the building and its facilities and now feel like they really fit in with the school – right down to their uniforms. Some staff have been waiting for this for over ten years so it was quite an emotional day. It is much easier to have high expectations when the building is stunning.”

The new building has been designed to maximise light and provide an airy, welcoming space. It includes 28 general classrooms, 8 music rooms, 7 science labs, 4 ICT rooms and 2 art studios. There is also a brand new sports hall with 4 courts, 2 double height common areas and 2 courtyards.

Each key stage has its own entrance, ensuring a small school feel and supporting ARK All Saints Academy's individualised approach. The flooring in the reception areas is tiled with a custom design derived from the school logo. The tessellated version of the ARK All Saints star reflects the school's focus on maths.
