St Alban’s pupils quiz David Tennant

Thursday 12th December 2013

St Alban’s pupils visited the theatre to see David Tennant as Richard II as part of the school's partnership with Stratford’s Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Pupils were also treated to a live streaming of his performance, followed by a Q&A session with David Tennant and Gregory Doran, in which they asked how much of David Tennant’s performance is down to the director and how much is left to his own interpretation.

St Alban’s Year 11 pupils have also been invited to exhibit their work in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre as part of the In Stitches costume design exhibition. They are currently designing headdresses for characters from As You Like It alongside the Royal Shakespeare Company’s costume department, having recently been to the theatre to see a performance of the play. School workshops are helping to prepare the lucky pupils for the exhibition launch at the end of term.
