Ark students are celebrating A level and BTEC successes following a uniquely challenging year.
The COVID-19 crisis meant that year 13 students were unable to sit their exams this summer – and recent controversy about how grades have been calculated by the exam regulators have created confusion and uncertainty.
Matt Jones, Principal of Ark Globe Academy, a secondary school in Southwark, said, “In what has been an extraordinary and unusual academic year, it is pleasing to see so many of our students received the grades they need to go on to their preferred destination. The students’ success is a result of their hard work before the COVID-19 lockdown and the wonderful support offered by the dedicated staff.”
All Ark schools are ensuring students have all the information available to take their next steps to higher education, apprenticeships and elsewhere. As well as their Ofqual Calculated Grades, students will be given their Centre Assessed Grades (CAGs) and mock examination results from their respective school.
Staff are available to discuss grades and explain what they mean. Ark schools will do everything they can to help students go on to the university course, apprenticeship or other destination of their choice.
