Learning Support Assistsant – 1 year Fixed Contract

Salary: Ark Inner London Support Staff Salary Scale 5 pt 5. £23,815 Actual salary based on 36 hrs per week 39 weeks per year including inset days

Contract: 1 year fixed full time term time

Location: Wembley, London

About the role:

At Ark Secondary, we are currently seeking three Learning Support Assistant positions (referred to as an LSA), who will all provide specific and direct support to children with Special Educational needs or a Disability (SEND), ensuring that these children make good progress in all academic areas across all subjects. The position will be with an area of specialism: either behaviour, KS4 English or KS4 STEM subjects. Line Managed by the SENCo and working alongside class teachers, Pastoral staff and external professionals to provide in-class support and small-group interventions in Key Stage 3, 4 and 5. These roles require a flexible approach, good organisational and administrative skills.

A calm and patient manner are essential, as is a nurturing approach. A good understanding of the academy’s teaching and learning and behaviour policies are desirable, and specific training will be provided to support you in the role. The ability to liaise with all staff and the parents of the children you will support is essential and will all form part of your role.
