Promoting Equality in African Schools (PEAS)

Ark worked in partnership with the social enterprise PEAS – Promoting Equality in African Schools – to develop a network of secondary schools in Uganda. These served disadvantaged, often isolated, communities which needed them most. These schools are showing policymakers how they could change the lives of pupils elsewhere in the country. PEAS took on all these programmes and continues to deliver excellent education today. Research shows that PEAS students come from poorer households and make faster learning progress, despite running at a lower cost than other schools.
