Come along to our recruitment evening on 9 December

Monday 2nd December 2013

On 9 December we will be holding a recruitment event to find great English, maths and science teachers.

The event, held at our central offices in London, will feature a panel of senior teachers and leaders from across our network, including Jerry Collins, the Principal of the new ARK John Keats Academy.  They will discuss what principals look for in outstanding teachers, their experiences of teaching at an ARK School as well as what “outstanding” looks like in practice.

Strong foundations in English, maths and science are key to ensuring students succeed at school. ARK Schools devotes more time to teaching these subjects so our pupils have the best chance of academic success. We call it depth before breadth' and it’s a key component in our drive to make sure all pupils do well enough in school to go to university or pursue the career of their choice. It’s especially important in our schools where a high percentage of our year 7 pupils start school behind their peers and nearly half speak English as an additional language.

Corinna O’Beirne, Head of Recruitment for ARK Schools said: “This is an opportunity for teachers who perhaps aren’t familiar with us to get some insight into what it would be like to teach in an ARK school, and to learn about opportunities across our network.  We think the work we do in advancing students understanding of the core subjects of maths, English and the sciences is inspiring and we want to encourage anyone interested in learning more to come to this event. It’s a great opportunity.”
