Teacher development

A great teacher in every classroom is the biggest lever for ensuring student success.
High fives at Ark Atwood Primary in London

Teaching quality matters: it improves student outcomes and can narrow the disadvantage gap. Effective professional development therefore is a crucial tool to develop quality teaching and enhance student outcomes.

We support all Ark schools to construct strategic teacher-focused professional development plans to improve teaching quality at all levels. The Ark Great Teacher Rubric is a key lever to enable schools to accurately evaluate teaching quality and to decide what professional development to provide, for whom, and in what form.

The tools, training and associated guidance supports schools to deliver bespoke professional development to teachers at all stages of their career.

We often think about that one special teacher. But I had the privilege of claiming that every single teacher was special, and each teacher had a profound impact on my life. I was driven to go into education to push for a change where every single child gets to enjoy that privilege.

Rashma Rahman Rashma is a former Ark student who teaches at Ark King Solomon. She graduated from the University of Oxford and qualified with Ark Teacher Training.
