Schools from across the Ark network have created a music video featuring students and alumni to celebrate the end of the school year and showcases the joy and creativity of Soca music.
Ark Music usually hosts an annual Gala concert at the Barbican Centre - bringing together hundreds of students from Ark’s 37 schools to perform for their friends and family. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this summer’s concert had to be postponed.

Wednesday 24th June 2020

Ark is organising a different type of sports day this year, the Ark Sports Day Challenge. The Coronavirus pandemic has meant children will miss out on their traditional school sports day, so instead, Ark has decided to stage a virtual version.
From July 1st until the 15th, students, parents, and school communities can ‘travel’ the distance around the world, which is 40,000 kilometres.

Kate Magliocco has been appointed as Regional Director at Ark for London and Portsmouth primary schools and will start in September. 
Kate will provide invaluable support to Principals and senior leaders and help them continue their journey of delivering excellent educational outcome for students. 

Friday 12th June 2020

Ark Alexandra has appointed Liam Collins as its new Principal, and he will take up his new role in September.
Mr Collins is currently Director of Curriculum, Teaching, Learning and Assessment at GLF Schools, a group of 40 primary and secondary schools across the UK. His appointment follows the retirement of Yvonne Powell, who has Executive Principal at the school for two years. Ms Powell was previously the Principal of Ark Walworth Academy in south London.

Friday 29th May 2020

The Government has confirmed that schools can begin to reopen from 1 June, starting with children in nursery, reception, year 1 and year 6. Other year groups will continue to learn at home.

Ark Oval Primary Academy continues to be a ‘good’ school according to the Ofsted latest report published this week.
The inspection took place at the school in Croydon on 4th and 5th March before the Coronavirus pandemic forced UK schools to close on 20th March.

Ark John Keats Academy, based in Enfield, has been shortlisted for the Award for Making a Difference – Secondary School of the Year in the Pearson National Teaching Awards, Education’s Oscars.
Chosen from thousands of nominations, Ark John Keats is one of 85 shortlisted nominees. The school, its teachers and staff have been recognised for their work with parents and the local community providing education for North Enfield and ensuring every student has the opportunity to make the right choice for their future.

Central to Ark’s mission is ensuring that all young people, regardless of their background, can access a career of their choice. 
Making sure students have the knowledge and skills they need to select, secure and succeed in a variety of pathways – including apprenticeships - once they have left school is therefore central to us achieving this mission. 

Monday 27th January 2020

Students from Ark schools came together to receive top tips and study tricks from former students now in medical-based courses and careers.
More than 60 students attended the Project Healthcare Launch in Kings Cross, on Wednesday (22 January), to gain insight on how to break into the industry and the range of options that are open to them.
Olufunke Moronfolu, who studied at Ark Elvin Academy in Wembley, said she was always encouraged to pursue medicine by her family and teachers. However, when she began studying the course she realised it wasn’t for her.

Monday 13th January 2020

Ark Isaac Newton Academy (INA) has been awarded £27,000 by The Wolfson Foundation towards a new science laboratory.
The all-through school in Ilford was rated outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in 2018. Since then, the academy noted an increased demand from its students for science courses at both Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
