Southwark MP and Justice Minister Simon Hughes visited Ark Globe Academy to congratulate the high-performing school on their work ensuring all pupils reach their potential.
Mr Hughes congratulated Ark Globe Academy on winning a £5,000 Pupil Premium Award after the school was named as one of the top schools in the country for helping disadvantaged students achieve good GCSEs results.

Last summer five Ark teachers were given the opportunity to travel to Uganda and South Africa to teach alongside colleagues working to improve education in sub-Saharan Africa.

The Guardian newspaper has praised St Alban’s Academy in Birmingham, calling it a ‘school that unites faiths’, after staff and students worked to create an inclusive and tolerant atmosphere in the community.

Ark has defied the national drop in GCSE results this year, with another improved set of scores, making us one of the strongest school groups in the country.
The proportion of Ark students getting 5 A*-C GCSE grades including maths and English rose from 57% to 59% in our 11 secondary schools. Nationally, the percentage of students achieving the same measure fell from 60.6% to 56.6%. Ark was also the only one of the 10 largest academy networks to see its GCSE results improve this year.

Budding musicians at Ark Conway Primary Academy entertained Cabinet ministers yesterday in a musical performance.
Nicky Morgan, the Secretary of State for Education, and Sajid Javid, the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, were treated to singing, as well as ukulele and cornet music, by talented pupils from the school.

The education minister, Nick Gibb MP, has praised Ark’s schools and staff in a speech to international educational experts.
The schools minister told delegates at the OECD’s inaugural Education Policy Outlook Conference that King Solomon Academy’s “excellent results” showed “that with the right methods, the background of a child is, and should be, no barrier to achievement”.

Secondary students from across the Ark network took to the basketball courts of Evelyn Grace Academy to battle it out to be crowned winners of the annual Ark Basketball Tournament.
Teams from Ark Burlington Danes, Ark Elvin, Ark Putney, Bolingbroke and hosts Evelyn Grace all competed for the Under 14s and Under 17s titles.

Primary league tables released this week show that Ark Rose Primary Academy is the most improved primary school in Birmingham, and 8th most improved in the country, based on 2014 Key Stage 2 results.  The league table is based on the 256 Birmingham primary schools which have results for 2013 and 2014.
Exam results at Ark Rose Primary Academy leapt from 56 points in 2014 with 100% of pupils achieving Level 4 Reading.

A teaching assistant who is giving up his free time to build a greenhouse to help pupils with challenging behaviour has been thanked for his “outstanding” contribution to Ark Blacklands Primary Academy.
Ark thanked James Havbro for his tireless and innovative work in helping to engage pupils who struggled at school. This comes after Stars in our Schools, a national event run by UNISON to recognise the contribution made by support and non-teaching staff in schools.
